Depression (or why I stopped blogging)

So this blog is pretty much dead. And I apologize for that, whatever readers I have.
While I originally stopped blogging because of computer problems, I never got back into it because I was suffering from severe depression. Like really bad. I barely could take care of EJ, let alone myself.

Quick update

Life has been crazy.

After a month of BS we FINALLY got the leaky pipe and the moldy fallout taken care of.

Hubby has been promoted at one of his jobs, so now he has one day off a week (and he’s no longer hourly, which is a plus).

My laptop’s batter and plug bit the dust simultaneously about 2 months ago. When I’m absolutely desperate I can resurrect it using tape and tin foil, but it isn’t easy to do and is getting harder each time I do it. I should be getting replacement parts soon.

This is why my blog has been neglected. Without a computer there isn’t much I can do. Yes I know there is a wordpress app for smartphones, but blogging SUCKS when you are typing on a tiny on screen keyboard (believe me I’ve tried).

My dad has also been having some serious health problems, so I’ve been helping my family out as much as I can.

But I should in the next few weeks be able to start writing regularly again, and I plan on introducing a new section: The Naptime Kitchen. In this section I will be blogging about the various recipes I’ve created and sharing them with you my readers.

I’ve also gotten seriously addicted to getting freebees in the mail, so I think I might start a product review section where I share my thoughts on some of the products I receive samples for.

Hopefully I won’t be computerless for too much longer.

Mushrooms in the Closet

Seriously. There is a mushroom growing in the carpet of the closet where the water damage was. And this was AFTER they “took care of everything.” Also, they still haven’t “taken care of” the sink cupboard that flooded from the leak as well. So I’m still dealing with all of that. Its getting frustrating. My allergies don’t appreciate all the mold. Oh and on top of that, a storm moved through this morning, and we discovered that water is leaking in from the master bedroom window, so that’s more mold and water damage to deal with. >.<

I don’t know what I did to piss off water, but I’m very very sorry

So we are back from vacation, but it will probably be another week at least before I get back to regular blogging.

Apparently I did something to piss of the water gods, because it has been one hell of a weekend.

Family Time

Ed. note: I started this post on the 10th, but a lot happened between then and now, so I didn’t get it finished and published, so this is week is “catch up week” where I will publish all the posts I have been working on.

Last week was been a reminder for me of the importance of family time, in all forms.

Now before you get any ideas, I happen to think we do pretty good at the “family time” thing. Despite Hubby working 60+ hours a week, we always have dinner as a family (even on the nights he works till 10pm), and we have a family bedtime routine. When he gets home from work, the first thing Hubby does is take EJ and play with him for a good hour or more, then we all cuddle up on Momma and Daddy’s bed for a bit of TV time before bed. And when EJ goes to bed, Hubby and I will have some “us time” and take a shower or play Mario Party together.

I’m also blessed that my family lives about 15 minutes away (which is a nice change from the last few years, where we lived on opposite sides of the country). My mom and littlest brother (who is 11) come visit at least once a week, and I usually stop by their place for a bit on days I have the car. I don’t get to spend much time with my Dad or other siblings, but between work and school for them, that’s to be expected.

I also enjoy me and EJ times, like taking walks together, cuddling on the couch watching Blues Clues, and even napping together (which is part of why there have not been any posts recently)

But last week was special, last week was all about family time.
