Depression (or why I stopped blogging)

So this blog is pretty much dead. And I apologize for that, whatever readers I have.
While I originally stopped blogging because of computer problems, I never got back into it because I was suffering from severe depression. Like really bad. I barely could take care of EJ, let alone myself.

Falling in love with someone you’ve never met

I’m a HUGE fan of ABC’s The ChewI’ve been a fan since the beginning. I want nothing more than to be in the audience, or eventually be a guest on the show (my dream would be to do a segment on Absinthe myths & make some absinthe cocktails with Clinton Kelly). I absolutely adore the entire “Chew Crew”: I’ve been fans of Michael Symon & Mario Batali since their early days on Iron Chef America, and I was rooting for Carla Hall on Top Chef All Stars (admittedly as my second pick, behind Richard Blais). Clinton Kelly has helped change my life/outlook on fashion (I’m planning a blog post about it as soon as my computer is resurrected…the money should arrive this week, the parts hopefully not long afterwards) and I love him so much. And Daphne Oz and her healthy living tips/recipes are awesome.

This is the life

Sleeping Like a Baby #6

It was a long day today (it may be 2 am, but it’s still today until either I go to bed & wake up or the sun rises).
That nap on my lap EJ took earlier? It was the only nap he took, so he was falling apart by dinner time (which is always late in our house because of Hubby’s work hours). So before making dinner, Hubby took EJ for a walk and he was asleep in about 5 minutes.
I had hoped that EJ would sleep well into the night, but that was a foolish hope on my part. He was awake by the time Hubby served dinner. So of course he was well rested and ready to go and do. So now at 2:30 in the morning he is finally asleep (and with any luck will sleep until morning).

You may think this is cute, but you have no idea what we went through to get to this moment

Sleeping Like a Baby #5

He is asleep on my lap. I thought we were going to cuddle, but he had other plans. It took 5 minutes just to get my arm out from under him.

So much for cuddling.

GONE!

Sleeping Like a Baby #3

Although EJ is currently sleeping, its not particularly cute. Its more of a relief for me, as he had a rough night last night and really should have gone down for his nap an hour ago (who knew it would be such a battle to get a tired boy to go to sleep).
So here’s a picture from earlier this week.

Editors Note: It looks like I’m going to be computerless for another few weeks. I have to wait for my tax return (I filed for an extension back in April) to come in before I can buy the replacement parts I need to resurrect her.
I’m tired of neglecting this blog, but I absolutely hate writing posts from my phone (as I’ve said countless times before), so I’ve found a compromise. I’m going to post pictures with short captions, which is easy to do from my mobile.

EJ can be a difficult baby to put to sleep, but when he does finally drift off its usually pretty adorable (and more often than not also involves my sleeping husband). I can’t resist taking pictures, especially when I go out to the living room at 1am to see why the boys aren’t in bed yet and discover both of them passed out on the sofa. So I’ve amassed an ever increasing number of pictures of EJ sleeping, which I will now share with you.
These first images are from last night/this morning

Quick update

Life has been crazy.

After a month of BS we FINALLY got the leaky pipe and the moldy fallout taken care of.

Hubby has been promoted at one of his jobs, so now he has one day off a week (and he’s no longer hourly, which is a plus).

My laptop’s batter and plug bit the dust simultaneously about 2 months ago. When I’m absolutely desperate I can resurrect it using tape and tin foil, but it isn’t easy to do and is getting harder each time I do it. I should be getting replacement parts soon.

This is why my blog has been neglected. Without a computer there isn’t much I can do. Yes I know there is a wordpress app for smartphones, but blogging SUCKS when you are typing on a tiny on screen keyboard (believe me I’ve tried).

My dad has also been having some serious health problems, so I’ve been helping my family out as much as I can.

But I should in the next few weeks be able to start writing regularly again, and I plan on introducing a new section: The Naptime Kitchen. In this section I will be blogging about the various recipes I’ve created and sharing them with you my readers.

I’ve also gotten seriously addicted to getting freebees in the mail, so I think I might start a product review section where I share my thoughts on some of the products I receive samples for.

Hopefully I won’t be computerless for too much longer.
